The 2006 U.S. Edition of the Occupational Outlook Handbook anticipates that employment opportunities should increase faster than average for massage therapists when compared to other occupations.
This increase may be relatd to the aging of the American public, the growing acceptance of the medical community towards massage therapy and the general acceptance of the public to massages.
The personal attributes required include a 'hands on' personality - and I mean that literally. If you're not a 'people person' then this career is obviously not for you. You have to be caring, and patient and willing to help others.
